Gold Quartz
Original title: Quartz'or
Facets of pink, yellow and violet crossed by broad black strokes, like a shattered crystal.
Angular planes surge diagonally, like the facets of a crystal. Fuchsia pink and lemon yellow answer each other, lifted with ochre and deep violet. Two broad black strokes, almost green in places, trace the structure of the painting and guide the eye from top to bottom.
In the yellows, the paint is thick and seems scraped. Elsewhere, it lightens into transparent veils. A honeycomb pattern appears beneath the colours, with a few splashes and fine scratched lines. Quartz'or, oil on canvas, 2026, 80x100, will bring movement to a wall one loves to look at for a long time.
Ambiance & interior
This canvas will sit well in a bright room, where daylight arrives from the side and brings the relief of the paint to life. On an off-white, pearl-grey or linen wall, it will become the room's point of energy. It will speak with pale wood, a sage green, a midnight blue or a touch of mustard in an armchair or in cushions.
