Red Tree 1 -canvas on stretcher, framed in black- to be displayed face to face or side by side Red Tree 2
Original title: Arbre rouge 1 -toile sur chassis encadré noir- à exposer en face à face ou côte à côte Arbre rouge 2
Two red trunks, a blue band and light foliage on a very luminous yellow and orange ground.
€0
Two red trunks divide into branches and cross a canvas bathed in yellow and orange, with touches of green and turquoise. A wide blue band runs down diagonally, like a stream or a ribbon. Garlands of finely outlined leaves, white, mauve, pink, cling to it.
The surface is worked, creased in places, and the black line underlines the forms with candour. One feels energy and a rather lively joy, but the blue gives the eye a moment to breathe. This canvas can be shown face to face or side by side with Arbre rouge 2, to create a dialogue between the two.
Ambiance & interior
This canvas will find its place in a bright living space, a sitting room, an entrance hall or a study, where daylight will bring out the yellows and the red. It will sit well with white, ecru or light grey walls, as well as with natural wood or linen. The black frame gives it a clean, assured presence, suited to a sober interior as much as to a more colourful setting.
Texture & technique
- Yellow and orange background with green and turquoise areas, applied in zones
- Crumpled surface, evoking paper or a pasted layer, catching the light
- Red trunks set in broad flat areas, outlined by an irregular black line
- Thin, repeated leaves in white, mauve, pink and green, recalling stencil work
- Blue band with lighter and darker shades, crossing the composition diagonally
